I was nervous about how this transition was going to go down! I thought we were going to have to pull a "Super Nanny" stunt by sitting outside of her door for when she got out of bed, but our girl never put us to the test!!!
We did a "trial run" with a nap in the bed first and it went flawlessly! Dave and I both were amazed at how "easy" it was. Bed time was a little different. For the first 4 nights in her bed she'd wake up not able to find her blanket, saying she needed her cup for a drink, or saying she was scared. We fixed the blanket and scared problem with adding a nightlight and just had to say no drinks from cups during nighttime! We'd reminded her every night that she was not to get out of her bed or that she would get a spanking. She only tried once and we caught her on the video monitor before her feet hit the floor! With our monitor, you can press a talk button, and speak into McKenna's room...so that's what I did! Once she heard my warning if her feet hit the floor, she scrambled back up to her pillow and didn't try it again! Ha!
We are so thankful she likes her new room and her new bed! She already calls the nursery her baby sister's room! The next big milestone we're going to try is potty training through the night...Mama is REALLY dragging her feet on this one, but I refuse to have 2 girls in diapers so that is my motivation :o) McK took really well to potty training during the day so we are hoping good things for the night too! Stay tuned!
McKenna sleeps all over that bed! She usually falls asleep at the foot of her bed and we have to go and put her back at the top before we go to bed. She has yet to fall out of her bed, but sometimes sleeps right up against the railing! We don't think we'll move the rails anytime soon :)
She LOVES her bed and loves to snuggle up good!
