Our Little Mess!

McKenna is getting bigger by the second. There are times when I just look at her and cannot believe what a big, sweet girl she is turning into. Long gone are the days of our "baby". She has SUCH personality and it is REALLY starting to shine through. She is a ham and loves to laugh...and make US laugh!

Our girl has SUCH a sense of style...we are SO proud :o)
Give the girl a box and she's entertained for hours...oh the simple things!

Dave was putting some black compost in the front yard. I left her outside with him for a minute, came back and found her "helping"...sigh. I love that she doesn't mind getting dirty, I just wish she had on her play clothes :o)

This little girl LOVES to be outside!
This was our first try with sidewalk chalk and she did a great job! By the end of it, her jeans looked like they had been splashed with paint! Bath time came early!

She is becoming more and more independent with the "I can do it myself" attitude! She is getting better and better at using her spoon, fork, and drinking from a big girl cup!

Oklahoma Christmas

McKenna and I left early Christmas morning to fly to OK to be with my side of the fam for the week after Christmas. We had to leave Dave behind to start his new job with the fire dept. There was a severe snow/ice storm the day before we flew out. Our flight out of Jax was on time and our layover flight was also on time...we were thrilled...until we got to Tulsa (our final destination). We couldn't land because of the wind. We were rerouted until the wind died down...sigh. We ended up be only several hours late, so we were still thankful, but TIRED! McKenna was a good, little traveler... and I was blessed to have very helpful people sit with us each leg of the trip. Santa and Mrs. Claus were even there to greet us in the airport.

We got to spend time at Memom's house before driving to Oklahoma City to Gigi and Pop's. McK got another household item toy...a vacuum!!!

Us kids bought Gigi new pots and pans for Christmas! McK got more fun toys - a shopping cart and a mixer for her kitchen!!

Gigi had so many toys for McK and kept her thoroughly entertained. Pop had a fun 4 wheeler waiting for the big girl...and us REAL big kids loved playing the wii on the chilly, snowy days!

McKenna got to experience her first snow! She wasn't sure about it at first, but warmed up to it quickly. She didn't really like walking in it (because she's so dainty, lol), but she liked it when Ha-Ha (Aunt Hannah) let her eat it!

I got to spend New Year's Eve with my Mama, brother, sister-in-law, and some of their couple friends. Dad was great and stayed home with McK while the rest of us did dinner, hung out, and played "Mad Gab". It was a fun way to bring in 2010!

It was a great Christmas and time with family. We really missed having Dave with us and hope that it won't have to be that way too many more times, if any!

Gran, Papaw, and Dave's graduation

Can't believe it's been almost 2 months since my last post :o/ OOPS! Lets see if I can at least finish up December!!!!!

These are out of order...but lets see if I can keep the details with the pictures straight....

Dave graduated the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department's Recruit school right before Christmas. His parents were able to come and spend a whole week with us before McKenna and I left for Oklahoma for Christmas.

We are all so very proud of the hard work Dave put into his schooling! His parents mentioned this was the 5th graduation for Dave that they've been a part of: High school, Navy boot camp, college, St. Johns County Fire School, and now Jax! Dave is such a pro and makes it look super easy ;o) Our friends Josh and Aubrey also came to support Dave. Josh is also works with JFRD and has been a HUGE help to Dave.

Chris and Tim were fellow fire fighters from when Dave worked with St. Johns County. Chris transferred to JFRD with Dave and Tim still works at Dave's old station.

We had a small congratulatory after party with some good friends and yummy cake!

As a last "Hoo-ra" the recruit class repelled off of the Jaguar Stadium downtown! Dave admitted he was a tad nervous...but he made it down safe and sound and was pumped!

It was a neat thing to be able to watch!

Christmas Eve we were able to go to our church's service as a family.

Fun in the back yard with Gran and Papaw...

Fun at the park too...

and the Zoo!!!!

Our little diva got a kitchen, food, pots and pans, a broom/dust pan, and a swiffer mop for Christmas. I'm hoping she doesn't "outshine" her mommy when it comes to being domestic.
