Every other year the Blue Angels come to the beach for a land, sea, and sky show. They practiced all week long for the weekend event. We could hear them and see them from our house! I took McKenna down to the beach while they were practicing...there was no way I was going to attempt the show during the weekend. She loved it. She would point to the sky and say, "Wow!" Of course we had her books and baby in tow and just enjoyed some sweet time together in the sunshine.
Since the weather has gotten cooler, we've had the windows open. McKenna slips and slides on the tile when she just has her socks on, and I don't want to make her wear shoes all the time...so it was time to bust out the slippers! She doesn't mind them, and I think they are hysterically cute!
Love these slippers...love the red hair :o)
Check out the concentration! Love the pink, furriness going on with these slippers...so girlie!
This was our sweet, little McKenna's Halloween costume!!! We practiced getting into her outfit once a day, the whole week leading up to her first trick-or-treating experience!!!! Unfortunately, we'll have to wait until next October to try our hand at walking through the neighborhood, begging for candy...McKenna was running a low grade fever. We had to make the executive decision on whether or not we were going to take her out...we just didn't think it was in her best interest.
Boy was I one sad Mama!!!! I didn't realize how much I was looking forward to seeing her trick-or-treat until it came down to not actually putting her in that costume for the real deal!!! Oh well...my baby girl went to bed early, slept well, and felt better the next morning! Dave and I ended up in the driveway, passing out candy, and talking with our neighbors. It was so fun to actually have trick-or-treaters. The costumes were great and the kids were so cute. We sat and talked about how awesome our neighborhood is and how blessed we are to be here. I'm glad to have gotten some sweet pictures of her though...she was the prettiest of peacocks!!!!
Dave and I were married on July 9, 2005 here in FL where we have made our home. Dave is employed with the Fire Department. I finished up my 3rd year of teaching 3rd grade and am able to stay home with our first baby who was born June 2008! We are very excited about all of the new changes in our life together. We are also excited to be able to share these new adventures through this blog site. We feel very blessed by our family and friends and are thankful for all of the blessings the Lord has seen fit to give us!
