Big Girl Bed!

We waited to put McKenna in her big girl bed for when we got home from Oklahoma. Her bedroom has been set up and waiting for her since October, so she was SUPER excited to actually get to sleep in her new bed.

I was nervous about how this transition was going to go down! I thought we were going to have to pull a "Super Nanny" stunt by sitting outside of her door for when she got out of bed, but our girl never put us to the test!!!

We did a "trial run" with a nap in the bed first and it went flawlessly! Dave and I both were amazed at how "easy" it was. Bed time was a little different. For the first 4 nights in her bed she'd wake up not able to find her blanket, saying she needed her cup for a drink, or saying she was scared. We fixed the blanket and scared problem with adding a nightlight and just had to say no drinks from cups during nighttime! We'd reminded her every night that she was not to get out of her bed or that she would get a spanking. She only tried once and we caught her on the video monitor before her feet hit the floor! With our monitor, you can press a talk button, and speak into McKenna's room...so that's what I did! Once she heard my warning if her feet hit the floor, she scrambled back up to her pillow and didn't try it again! Ha!

We are so thankful she likes her new room and her new bed! She already calls the nursery her baby sister's room! The next big milestone we're going to try is potty training through the night...Mama is REALLY dragging her feet on this one, but I refuse to have 2 girls in diapers so that is my motivation :o) McK took really well to potty training during the day so we are hoping good things for the night too! Stay tuned!

McKenna sleeps all over that bed! She usually falls asleep at the foot of her bed and we have to go and put her back at the top before we go to bed. She has yet to fall out of her bed, but sometimes sleeps right up against the railing! We don't think we'll move the rails anytime soon :)

She LOVES her bed and loves to snuggle up good!

January trip to OK!

The Lord was so gracious to us by allowing us to find AWESOMELY priced tickets through SouthWest Airlines! With McKenna being 2 now (and having to buy her a ticket), flying to Oklahoma will now cost us a pretty penny! We were so thankful not to have to pay for our bags (since we took 4), and the timing was just perfect! We figured out that it had been about 2 years since Dave was able to make the trip out to Oklahoma with us, so it was SUPER nice traveling together as a family!

We flew out for about a week and had a wonderful time. McKenna did beautifully on the plane and got a "surprise" (aka: distraction) toy on the plane...and Woody doll from Toy Story! She was in Heaven. Pop and Gigi were there to greet us at the airport with hugs and smiles! McKenna got down from her stroller at the airport and RAN to Gigi for big hugs!

We got to go over to my Memom's house for a visit with more extended family. The time is just never long enough! My cousin Brenda has 3 children and McKenna really loved playing with the older kids, Nora and Isaac.

Memom has 4 great grandchildren with 3 more coming this year! Gam (my Aunt Patti) brought over fun activities for the kids to enjoy and Pappy (my Uncle Jack) snuck in snuggles and sugars when he could!

My Mom and Memom hosted a Pinkalicious Brunch in honor of our sweet Addison that is making her way soon. It was such a sweet time to be together as family and to feel the excitement of this baby coming! We were spoiled with sweet gifts and delicious food! Thank you ladies for a memorable morning!

McK is ready in her pink! The table setting was just perfect!

McK was good to help me open the gifts! It is always a treasure to have a 4 generation picture whenever we can get together!

Gigi can't wait for grandbaby 2 and 3 to arrive. Hannah (my sister-in-law) is due one month after we are! Our sweet friend from South FL (who now lives in OK) Jessica G. came for the morning and was the perfect addition!

My parents saved all of their Christmas decorations and we finished up Christmas together while we were there! Stockings are a pretty big deal at the Badgett house, so it was fun to open them all together!
Mom got her first Vera bag!

McKenna was loved on with MORE presents! Uncle Kevin got her a cool puppy stuffed animal with a neat puzzle that plays music, Uncle Keith and Aunt Hannah got her some super fun play doh and accessories, Pop and Gigi got her a doctor kit, and so much more! Dave got a stethoscope (for paramedic school) too so he and McKenna tried them out :)

It was SUCH a treat being ALL together!

Brrrrr! We had snow flurries one of the days we were there! It stuck around for a little while just to tease us, but melted the same day.

McKenna loved her time with her Pop and Uncles. They are so good to play with her and give her TONS of attention!

We always wish for more time together and always look forward to the next time we are able to be a family. We'll get to see Pop and Gigi when Addison comes in April and we will hope to make a trip out to OK this summer so we can see our new niece/nephew.

Thanks for the BEST trip EVER family. We love you tons and tons.
