Mississippi Visit

McKenna, Ginny, and I flew to Jackson, MS then drove to Brookhaven, MS to see Meredith, Andrew, sweet baby Lylah, their new home and town. It was an adventure of a life time for us crazy gals :o)

Our flights were all on time, but this mama learned a valuable lesson: don't fly with McKenna during bed time - she will NOT sleep on the plane anymore...need I say more? McKenna was a good girl (no tears) but she was VERY busy...loopy almost! She did fall asleep in the car on the way to Mer's house, but decided NOT to sleep through the night ONCE while we were there. (sigh)

We had a great time none-the-less. All that mattered was that us girls were together. Give us a place to be, some snacks, and each other...that's all we needed!

McKenna was pretty good with Lylah...as long as Mommy was not holding Lylah! If Mommy did hold Lylah, then McK became quite the jelly-belly (jealous)! Lylah was very sweet to McKenna, shared her toys, and provided lots of smiles, giggles, and entertainment! She was a fabulous hostess!

The girls became great travel buddies in the car as we drove around the see the sights and eat out!

We spent a lot of time out on Mer's front porch...with good reason...it is beautiful! The Spring time had brought out the gorgeous flowers, and having the porch swing and rocking chairs were the added bonus!

Life long friends...

While the sun was shining we set out on a neighborhood walk to get the lay of the land and see where Mer lives.

Time for snuggles! The real friendship that took place was that between McKenna and Moses! That girl LOVED that dog! Moses was so patient, kind, gentle, and understanding to McK's obsession with him. I think she wore him out with hugs and kisses. And NO, we will NOT be getting her a dog any time soon :o)

Meredith's friends invited us over for lunch in their beautiful home. It was such a treat!

Outside fun for the girls...

Not only were the little girls good traveling buddies, but good high chair and bath buddies too!

I snuck in as many snuggles with Lylah as I could!!!

We were able to be in Brookhaven over a Sunday and got to go to church with Mer. Their church home is beautiful and the church family adores them. It was good to see where they are planting their family roots!

The flight home was much better! McKenna seemed to be a pro at this point in traveling around. She is a good buddy to have along for the ride...but we were SO GLAD to get home and to a FULL night's rest :o)

Ready for Beach Season

Notice how I did NOT say ready for bathing suit season...but it is time once again to enjoy some fun in the sun at the beach!

McKenna loves to watch her crazy boy friends Josh and Ezekiel! Miss Brielle is more her speed! It's wonderful to have girlfriends with kids that get along so well together!

Shelby and McKenna build, then destroy, a sandcastle!

Daddy and his beach bunny! She's such a big girl!

Life at the beach is grand!

Easter 2010

Well, McKenna did NOT cry with the Easter Bunny like she did with Santa this past Christmas! I think this Christmas will be MUCH better! She still wasn't very impressed with the Bunny, and would not smile to save her life...but at least she wasn't desperate to get away!

The Easter Bunny brought great baskets for Dave and McKenna before we left for church...my basket was not pictured, but was equally as great!
Mommy and her sweet girl.

McKenna totally got the hang of hunting for Easter Eggs! She had some competition so she didn't end up with tons...but she held her own and we were proud!

Chad's parents have a BIG Easter celebration at their house every year and they were gracious enough to invite us. They had a big lunch, an egg hunt for the older kids, and then one for the younger ones. It was a blast!

After the big kids took the goodies out of their eggs, McKenna snuck up and stole them! It was too funny!

We enjoyed the beautiful day and had plenty of Easter treats! We are thankful for friends that serve as our family, and we are thankful that we serve a Risen Lord!
