Whoa Baby!

Well...we got to see some more pictures of McKenna yesterday. I went for our last set of sonogram pictures and our 32nd week check-up. It was a much more different experience than the 20 week sonograms. All of her didn't fit on the screen, so we had to go part by part to get a good look at her! She was wiggly again, so this photo-shoot wasn't as clear as the last one. The sonographer measured her head and her tummy and I asked how she measured. The sonographer said, "Well, she's measuring a little big." I said, "How big is big?" She replied, "Well Mrs. Burke, you are looking at a 5lb 14oz baby!!" Having read up on my Pregnancy Week By Week book, I knew McKenna should be weighing in around 4lbs...no almost 6lbs!!!

I had a doctor's appt. right after our photo session, so I collected myself long enough to get his opinion. Dr. Greene seemed calm, cool, and collected as he told me our baby is in the 90% of her weight class at this particular time. He said my tummy is measuring right at 32 weeks (perfect), I haven't gained too much weight (that 14 lbs has now turned into 20 lbs), and her heartbeat sounded "perfect". I love it when he says that word! Dr. Greene said she could slow down from here on out and I questioned the alternative...what happens if she doesn't. He said then you're probably lookin' at an 8-9lb baby! Yikes! I asked if there's anything I could be doing...I wasn't convinced this was "OK". He said to ease my mind, I'll come back next Friday to do another glucose test to make sure the nasty "diabettes" word hasn't slipped in. He said otherwise there is nothing to worry about...we're just growing a big baby!

I called the grandmas after leaving the office. Come to find out McKenna's daddy was a big baby with a large head :o) Also, I weighed in at a whopping 5lbs 14oz when I was born 5 weeks early...so there's no tellin' how much I would've weighed if I continued to full term. I'll be ready to go to the doctors on Friday to make SURE she's fine...until then I'll continue to be a good "hostess" for our girl :o) If you think to pray for us, please just pray for a continued healthy pregnancy and pray for a healthy delivery...I'm not even going to say the "C-section" word yet!

Here's some of the pics taken...

This is our sweet girl! She is facing the camera. her little hand is up by her face. The arrow in the sonogram picture is pointing to her arm/hand. You can see her eye sockets, the bridge of her nose, cheeks, and lips.

This picture is a little weird :o) She is facing the camera again. You can see her nose, eyes, and her mouth is open and kinda drawn down to the side. I like it because you can see her sweet, little top lip :o)

As the picture states...heres a foot!

Shower #3

My team of 3rd grade teachers graciously hosted a faculty baby shower for us! They turned the media center into a wonderful world of pink and green! I was overwhelmed, yet again, by the love of support of friends!!!

The teachers estimated how big around I was!

Ms. Perkins, my partner teacher, won the ribbon game. The goal was to catch people crossing their legs, ankles, or arms and steal their ribbon. I was out within 30 seconds of getting my ribbon :o(

The 3rd grade teachers each took a page and created a beautiful scrapbook for McKenna. I will enjoy looking at it over and over again. Each page has a theme and even goes through the seasons! I can't wait to fill the pages with pictures!

The food was delicious!

"Special Delivery"

Mrs. Ford and Mrs. Burke!

MORE CLOTHES!

This frog is going to make bath time lots of fun!

Stuff the Bus!

My kids "stuffed the bus" full of goodies!

I have such sweet "room parents" that helped pull off the surprise!

My sweet kiddos!

Smart girls!

My 3rd graders surprised me this morning with a special pancake breakfast! My partner teacher, Ms. Perkins, sent letters home with each student asking them to "stuff the bus!" They filled a bus with diapers, wipes, and other wonderful gifts for McKenna. I was totally surprised...the kids did a great job keeping the secret!

Thank you Amie, Diane, and Kim for driving up from West Palm Beach to spend the day with us! You ladies are such a treasure!

My sweet, sweet friends! Thank you Ginny, Erica, and Meredith for a beautiful and memorable day!

My beautiful hostesses!

Meredith and Erica baked a delicious cake!

These roses were gorgeous and they smelled soooo good!

This game was hilarious...a bit frightening, but fun! They melted candy bars and we had to guess what was in the diaper!
