We were able to have her Mickey Mouse party at our neighborhood swimming pool. We tried to do this for her 1st bday party, but got rained out. This year, we prayed and prayed for the rain to go away...and it DID! We enjoyed the sun, the pool, hot dogs with all the fixin's, friends, and CAKE! It was a special day!
McKenna is SUCH a 2 year old! She is a baby NO LONGER! She is a big girl and she will TELL you she's a big girl! She is weighing in at almost 30 lbs and is almost 3 feet tall. She remains in the 75% for weight and 90% for height! She is talking sooooo much! She is putting words together and creating REAL sentences...that make SENSE! :o) One funny response she is saying is - instead of saying "yes" to answer a question, she says, "I do." So it's like, "McKenna, do you wanna go to the pool?"..."I do." "McKenna, do you want chicken nuggets?"..."I do." :o) It's too funny.
She loves Mickey Mouse, Curious George, and Bear in the Big Blue House. She'd watch "Nacho Libre" every day if we let her (sigh). She loves to start her mornings off slowly on the couch watching Mickey with her nutrigrain bar, banana and milk...don't even TRY to rush her :o)
She is SO GOOD at playing independently. Her playroom is outfitted for her perfectly. She loves to play with her doll house, "Little People" farm and plane, her baby with her stroller, and she loves to work puzzles. She is just now starting to REALLY play with her kitchen by herself (instead of us cooking with her). She has started making "lunch" for her dolls and also baking "treats". She loves, loves, loves to play outside - which is a wonder to me, b/c the girl sweats SO MUCH. It doesn't seem to bother her though! She'd rather be outside than ANYWHERE!
Her bestest friend is still her Daddy, but when he's at work she loves to play with Ezekiel, baby Chi, Joshy, and Brielle. She loves to walk down the street to see Chad, Dana, Ellison, Shelby, and play with Earl (the dog). She doesn't mind being on the go and will let you know when she wants to get in the car and go somewhere! She LOVES music and now asks me to turn on the "songs" even before I can back out of the driveway. She loves to sing "Twinkle Star", "ABC", "Jesus loves Me", "Spider" (Itsy Bitsy), and "Boop-boop-eee-doo" (Skidamarinkadink). She can count to 6 by herself and can go to 10 with little help. She knows yellow and pink and loves to color.
She loves to laugh and be silly and is starting to play dress up...putting on tutus, necklaces, bracelets, rings, crowns, carry umbrellas, and pretend lipstick! This part is hardest on Dave! :)
She has gone tinkle on the potty twice now, so potty training is in our near future...don't know if I'm ready for this! :) We are enjoying our sweet toddler to the fullest. She brings so much to joy to our lives and those around her. She really is a GOOD girl (only trying at times). We're thankful for her health, sweet spirit, and personality.

Every time I read a post about what McK is up to it makes me sad because she and Kendall are totally in the same stage...dress up, playing house, doll houses, counting, same songs, etc. I just hope that when we get the chance to move back, they can pick up where they left off. She's such a precious little girl and you and Dave are so blessed!
