I found a GREAT website/blog for children's activities and decided to try my hand at a couple of them! :o) They both went surprisingly well and McKenna and I were both pleased! I punched 3 holes in the top of this yogurt container, bought some colorful pom-poms and McK stuffed them into the holes. She loved it! We talked about all the colors, sorted them and counted them. She loved taking the lid off, dumping them out onto the table, and starting again. I put this container in her playroom and she still plays with it! Who knew?
Took a break to play on the back porch and get stuck under the table :o) I was SUPER excited about our first ART project! I found a clip art of a tree and printed it out. I went to Michael's (using a 40% off coupon) and bought the do-a-dot art markers. I had a sweet book about fall and leaves. We read the book and started our project making fall leaves using the paint.
She did a really good job!
Our final project! I must say...I did a really good job and DID NOT hover :o) I just showed her once or twice how to use the paint and I helped her change colors :o) The next day we used only the read paint and made an apple tree (after reading Dr. Seuss 10 Apples on Top). So fun...more craftiness to come :o)
The child is on her way to brilliance!!!! Great ideas and fun ones too. Do you have lesson plans made for the month of October? :-) She's one of the smartest and sweetest red heads we know. Love you and will see you in 10 days! Pop & Gigi
So sweet to get to know McKenna through these pictures. Great crafts Mom! She looks like she is enjoying life. I'll definitely use the container idea! Erica
I tried this with my little pumpkin and she was more interested in EATING the stamper instead of making a pretty picture for her Momma! I guess I shouldn't be surprised...that's my girl! Thanks for the idea! We'll try again in a few months.
Dave and I were married on July 9, 2005 here in FL where we have made our home. Dave is employed with the Fire Department. I finished up my 3rd year of teaching 3rd grade and am able to stay home with our first baby who was born June 2008! We are very excited about all of the new changes in our life together. We are also excited to be able to share these new adventures through this blog site. We feel very blessed by our family and friends and are thankful for all of the blessings the Lord has seen fit to give us!

So proud of both of you! Well done on not hovering! I still struggle with wanting to hover! Love the yogurt/pom idea! Can't wait to try it tomorrow!
