Solids?

Well, we are on the road of feeding McKenna solids. She is rockin' and rollin' with the cereal, but has yet to approve of the veges she's been given. She HATED my homemade squash! I tried 4 days in a row and she was NOT havin' it! I'm hoping it's the homemade part she didn't care for and not the vege. I'll pick some up the next time we do groceries and see...

Today we tried pumpkin, a good Thanksgiving food! It wasn't homemade, it was purred pumpkin in a can. From the video you can see that this was not a big hit either! I'm going to try it for 4 days (that's my rule) to see if she changes her mind. I'm not counting on her to, but we'll see. I am banking on the fact that she'll enjoy sweet potatoes, so that's the next thing we'll try. Who knew that MY girl would be picky with FOOD :o) She must get that from her Daddy! What an adventure...

Mimi still wont eat veggies. :) She used to make herself gag when I gave her anything green. Try mixing it with cereal. That helped us. GOOD LUCK.

For the girls and now Zadok, we've always tried sweet potatoes and sweet green peas first. The sweeter the veggie, the faster they go for it! I've been told breast milk tastes very sweet to their tongues. I don't know what kind of squash you used, but acorn squash is very easy to prepare and is more sweet than most, including pumpkin. Zadok is 10 mo. and is just now enjoying pumpkin. If there is something she doesn't like, put it aside for a week or so, then try it again. Don't just assume she'll never like it! You have a while to direct her tastes!! Have fun!! Love from OK.

LOL...how funny! You know we tried pumpkin in a can after you told me about it at Vanessa's shower. Asher LOVES it. She kicks her feet and smiles and can't wait for the next bite! Thanks for sharing the idea with us.. Don't give up, her little stomach is still getting used to food.!

I love these videos! It's so funny see her try them, spit them out, and finally just down right cry about it!

So funny! I love the beginning of that first video it looks like she is thinking oh no Mom, what are you giving me now! :) Try the sweet potatoes. They were always Kis fave and we attribute her "fake tan" to the fact that she ate them once a day for many months! Just think she will be the only one with a tan for Thanksgiving and Christmas!
